Do What’s Right

Today our country celebrates a man who represents more than one blog post could do justice.

We celebrate a leader. A man who was an agent of change. An activist who chose to operate out of love. A revolutionary man who thought differently and was not afraid of doing what was right on the behalf of others. Martin Luther King, Jr. left a positive legacy.

Concurrently, it is around this same time that I hear from new families who are interested in Indi-ED for their child next school year. It pains me to hear about the situations that kids and families find themselves in but it is a constant reminder of why we commit to the work that we do.

There are still injustices and problems to be solved. But like Mr. King, I am grateful to have found the mission that I have committed my life to. Even more grateful to be in a position to help create positive change for others as well.

Even when it’s hard, the daily impact that we can have is worth the work. Would Mr. King have guessed that his words and actions still resound decades later?

The time that each of us has on this Earth may be different in length, but we all have our time to make a difference. We have time to make an impact. Whether that’s on a national scale for decades to follow, or in the circles we can impact right here in our community.

We have time to build one another up. We have time to create change. We have time to leave a positive legacy. And I for one, don’t plan to waste mine.

Pick your commitment. Make your difference. Love and support one another.
